Dr Trevor Clohessy is an information technology guest speaker and an information technology/systems lecturer at the Galway-Mayo institute of Technology. His research interests include blockchain, business analytics, digital transformation, digital addiction, digital politics and cloud computing. In conjunction to organising national information systems and technology workshops, Trevor has also organised international workshops with the most recent being a blockchain research workshop which was held at the European Conference in Information Systems (ECIS) 2018. Trevor and his research associates Reuben Godfrey (Director, Blockchain Association of Ireland) and Michelle Houston (Legal and Regulatory Consultant) conducted one of the first blockchain Irish organisational readiness reports in 2018 entitled “Organisational factors that influence the Blockchain adoption in Ireland: A study by J. E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics in association with the Blockchain Association of Ireland.
Trevor is also the author of a new book called “Identity Politics: Getting to Know You, Getting to Know All About You” which investigates how digital technologies, including blockchain, are transforming modern political landscapes.
